A spotlight on the Ribbon Dress - For the Mother of the Bride / Groom

In the 22 years of Living Silk, without a doubt, the Ribbon Dress is one of the most flattering dresses we have ever done.

It’s designed with stretch so it seamlessly moulds to your body, thus creating a flattering and feminine fit. The Ribbon Dress is ideal if you want a sleek silhouette for your next event, whether that be a guest attending a wedding, a special birthday, a lunch or work function or as the Mother of the Bride or Mother of the Groom.

Featuring a criss-cross design that pops in photographs (and in person), the Ribbon Dress is also one of the most unique in our collection.

This blog will shine a spotlight on the Ribbon Dress, discussing its design, colour palette and styling options. So read on to learn more about this gorgeous garment.

Design

The Ribbon Dress boasts a quartet of features that make the dress so spectacular.

The first is the 47% micro modal, which gives the dress its stretch. Micro modal is a specialised type of rayon that boasts incredible softness and resistance to shrinkage, so you can rest assured that your dress will be comfortable and long-lasting.

The second feature is the silk satin ribboning that covers the dress from top to bottom. This criss-cross pattern highlights the femininity of the dress and, as mentioned earlier, photographs brilliantly (just what you want for those days spent flicking through photo albums!).

The third feature that makes the Ribbon Dress so special is the boat neckline. It’s soft, flattering, elegant and allows the right amount of room for a necklace. Tip: Pearls and Silk are a stunning combination.

The fourth feature is the small slit at the back hem of the dress. Not only does this add a modern touch, but it gives you extra movement for dancing the night away!

Colour Palette

The Ribbon Dress is available in many colour ways.

Having multiple colour options means you can choose the one that feels most like you, coordinate nicely with the bride or groom, and complements the style of the wedding you’re attending. Perhaps the Ivory Ribbon Dress for an outdoor Spring wedding, the Midnight Blue and Silver for a Summer country wedding, the Silver, Ivory and Blush for a Fall garden wedding and the Black and Gold for a more formal Winter wedding - the choice is yours!

Styling

The Ribbon Dress is spectacular on its own, but if you would like to add an extra layer of detail and elegance you can; there’s plenty of jackets, coats, and shawls that you can slip over the top.

From the simple Pure Silk Organza Jacket and Pure Silk Organza Cocktail Jacket to the effortlessly elegant Pure Silk Organza Coats and shawls, there are so many options to complete your outfit.

Overall, the Ribbon Dress is an exquisite option for any special event or for a Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom attending her son's or daughter’s wedding. Depending on the colour you choose and how you style it, the Ribbon Dress can be worn to a cocktail, formal, beach, garden, country, and outdoor wedding, with a pure silk bolero, jacket, coat or shawl, as you wish.
